Turkey is, with Iran, one of the only countries where one can hunt the beautiful Ibex, the Bezoar. The Bezoar lives at an altitude of between 1000 m and 1800 m in the whole chain of the Taurus Mountains which extends over the whole of southern Turkey, from Isparta to Kayseri, in the hinterland of the Mediterranean coast.

In Turkey nature management is a priority, there are many National Nature Parks and some species, including the Ibex Bezoar, are subject to management programmes in order to ensure a hunting harvest that maintains the population density.
